Having a whale of a time in the studio... and by the sea!
If you want to see whales, now is the time to visit Cambria. Walk along the coast in the late afternoon or early evening and you'll see them spouting in the surf. They're attracted to the massive numbers of fish churning the water. Birds swirl overhead, dive-bombing into the fray to catch their dinners.
Where to go:
Fiscalini Ranch Preserve - seaside trail
From the website: The most outstanding natural feature of the preserve is the dramatic ocean bluff that runs more than a mile along the shoreline. The rocky coast rises to a 400-foot ridge with breath-taking views of migrating whales, birds and playful otters before sloping southeastward to the willow-edged creek.
In the studio, whales are showing up more frequently as well!
